5th Annual Golf Tournament
On March 31, 2003, we will be hosting our 5th Annual Golf Tournament. Proceeds from this event will fund educational and business training programs for the Asian business community. ABA scholarship program has already given over $50,000 since its inception.
According to the US Census 2000, 44% of Asians, age 25 and older, hold a bachelors degree or higher. “On the average, Asians are more educated when compared to other ethnic groups.” said Dennis Huang, Executive Director of ABA. “We want to continue to build on our strength in education. Since fundamentals of a good business start with a solid education, we need to support business leaders of tomorrow. ”
In the past, ABA gave scholarships to Asian American Studies Center Scholarship Program of UCLA, USC, CSUN, and Cal Poly Pomona. The proceeds from the event also funded the inception of Asian Business Community Development (ABCD). ABCD is a non-profit community based organization that is dedicated to serve and empower Asian Americans through education, leadership training, community service and economic development. Many large corporations such as Southern California Edison, American Honda, IBM, Union Bank of California, Verizon and Comerica Bank also believe in the importance of education in our diverse community by participating in this charitable event.
Each golfer will receive a prized gift bag. Golfers will also have the opportunity to win new set of golf clubs, raffle prizes, giveaways and a brand new Honda! Individual entry fee is $200, which includes green fees, golf cart, unlimited range balls, lunch, dinner and many golf related contests on the course. Sponsorship is also available. There will be a raffle along with a silent auction. Save the date for Monday, March 31, 2003 at the Robinson Ranch Golf Course in Santa Clarita.
