Announcing a new foundation, Asian Business Center
The Asian Business Center (ABC) was founded by the leaders of the Asian Business Association of Los Angeles Inc. in 2007. They received their 501(c)3 non-profit IRS status in April 2008.
The Mission Statement: The Asian Business Center (ABC), a non-profit, non-partisan, community-based organization that assists Asian Americans through business and community development. The organization focuses on business education and training, research and scholarship, as well as community and economic development.
The ABC serves as a forum for Asian American businesses to develop and grow. The Center fosters the exchange of business ideas, best practices and opportunities to help these businesses, as well as their surrounding communities, achieve their goals.
Through intercultural collaborations and interactions, as well as professional and organizational development, the ABC facilitates professional growth by improving business conditions and sharing best business practices.
One of ABC’s objectives is to educate and train Asian American businesses about programs and opportunities through leadership development, economic empowerment and policy enhancement. Gordon Eng, founding Chairman commented, “I am very excited about the launch of the Asian Business Center. It is the culmination of years of effort by members and friends of the ABA to establish the leading think tank and resource for information about Asian owned businesses and our importance to the United States economy.”
To date, ABC received a grant from the California Emerging Technology Fund to administer broadband access research.
