Fall, a beautiful time of the year. I get very excited about this season, specially this year. Many people are back from their vacations well rested, fresh and ready to thrive in their businesses. As kids head back to school, the weather begins to cool off. Rearranging your closet to find your favorite light jacket feels very routine, yet comfortable. Business people are out networking, developing contacts and exploring new ones. This fall will also a big Presidential election. Following the Presidential race has never been so electrifying!
Fall is also the unofficial time for banquet season. Many community-based organizations chose the fall months to have their annual dinner mainly because of the weather. To fall with tradition, our organization too has our fund-raising banquet this time of the year.
The Asian Business Association 32nd Annual Awards Banquet presented by Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. will be held at the Universal Hilton on Thursday, October 30, 2008 with general reception at 6:30pm. This year, we will have a Chinese style banquet followed with an Asian flair dessert reception sponsored by Mikawaya. Attendees will be entertained and dazzled by Kaba Modern, an urban dance group from University of California, Irvine.
At the Awards banquet, we take this opportunity to honor leaders in the Asian American business community and recognize corporations who consistently provide opportunities and venues for Asian American businesses to flourish.
The theme this year is “Resilience”. It has been said, "Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall". We find this virtue even more relevant and profound in these turbulent economic times. This year ABA and its corporate partners will celebrate with firms that exemplify the spirit of "Resilience", who turned what others viewed as economic uncertainty to business opportunities.
