There are many great and exciting programs members can enjoy, network and take advantage of in months ahead. Asian Business Association (ABA) is working on the Membership Directory, Summer Reception, Executive Forum Series, Small Business Exchange, 31st Annual Awards Banquet and Membership Appreciation Night. Aside from the programs, ABA will be electing new leaders to the Board and updating its website. There is no better time to join the association than now.
All members will automatically be listed in the 2008 membership directory. Be sure your membership is current and your information updated. This directory will be distributed to the purchasing department of all major corporations and pubic agencies as a resource for suppliers. In addition, ABA will have them available at numerous community functions throughout next year. It will offer great visibility and recognition for members. Members will also have the opportunity to advertise in the directory. Please contact the ABA office for details.
The Summer Reception will be on Thursday, August 23 at Mission 261 Restaurant in San Gabriel. Hosted by Citibank, the event’s featured speaker will be Chris Wright, an expert on identity theft. ABA understands that being a victim of identity theft is likely to be an emotional and confusing experience. They will attempt to share solutions for individuals and what businesses can do. Understanding what information you need to collect and what you need to do quickly is the first step. Enjoy an evening of friends, food and education by attending. RSVP today.
In September, many students are preparing to go back to school. It is a time to set schedules and prepare mentally for the upcoming school year. In the process, do not forget about the all new ABA Executive Forum Series sponsored by Citibank. These courses will educate you on “How to Gain a Positive Return on Investment in e-Commerce and e-Business.” APEX Computer Systems, Inc. will host the 3-session seminars at their headquarters in Cerritos on September 6th, 13th and 20th. Every attendee will receive key information from experts in e-commerce, dynamic networking with executives, reference materials, strategic learning points, presentation handouts and dinner for all three evenings. The investment is $199 for all three evenings and $150 for ABA members. Spaces are limited so register early.
Autumn officially marks the official commencement of banquet season. Many fundraising events and galas will feature and honor the best in their respective organizations. At ABA’s 31st Annual Awards Banquet presented by Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc., they have the distinct pleasure to honor IW Group Inc. with Business of the Year Award; AT&T with Corporate of the Year Award; Cooke Sunoo with Advocate of the Year Award; and DT Graphics with Member of the Year Award. Mr. David Ono will emcee the celebration on Wednesday, October 17 at the Omni Los Angeles Hotel.
As ABA continues to build on its programs, another way to participate is to serve as a board director. “We recognize the many talents, access and leadership that rest in our members” said Board Director and former Chairman Joseph Jou. “This is an opportunity to get even more involved in your community with many intrinsic rewards.” Nomination forms are available by contacting the ABA office. Self nominations are welcome. Deadline to submit nominations will be September 21. Deadline to receive voting ballots will be on October 31. The inauguration for the ABA 2008 Board of Directors will take place at the membership appreciation night in December.
